§ 46-5. Inspections.

  • (a)

    Certificate holders shall bring in each vehicle for hire, with affixed medallion on the window, on the day specified by the chief of police or his designee in April of each year to be inspected by the town.

    (b)

    Any vehicle for hire that is wrecked, damaged or deemed unsafe for carrying passengers shall not be allowed to carry passengers until the certificate holder makes the necessary repairs and alterations to ensure that public safety is not jeopardized. The certificate holder will be required to notify the town, police division of such situations and to have the affected vehicle for hire inspected by the town before returning the vehicle for hire to service.
