§ 42-81. Procedure upon approach of an authorized emergency vehicle.

  • Upon the approach of an authorized emergency vehicle giving audible or visual signal, the driver of any other vehicle shall immediately drive to a position as near as possible, to and parallel with, the righthand edge of the roadway, clear of any intersection, and shall stop and remain stopped until the authorized emergency vehicle shall have passed, except as he may be directed otherwise by a police officer; but upon a one-way street, drivers may stop at either the lefthand or righthand edge of the roadway.
