§ 2-6. Signing and countersigning of checks and other financial instruments.

  • (a)

    The town treasurer, acting as finance officer of the town, and the town manager, are authorized to sign all such checks, drafts or other financial instruments as required by G.S. 159-25(b), and the deputy town manager, mayor or town clerk are severally designated and authorized to countersign all such checks, drafts and other financial instruments.

    (b)

    In the event of the temporary absence or disability of the town treasurer, financial instruments of the nature described in subsection (a) of this section shall be signed by the town manager acting as finance officer and all such financial instruments shall in such event be countersigned either by the deputy town manager, mayor or by the town clerk.
