§ 26-3. Jogging.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to jog on any public street, highway, roadway, driveway, alley or shoulder in the town, except in accordance with the following regulations:

    (1)

    All joggers shall run in the direction facing traffic.

    (2)

    All joggers shall run on sidewalks, where they are provided.

    (3)

    All joggers running during hours of darkness must wear reflective material between the waist and shoulders on their front and back which gives an indication of the joggers' presence through reflected light from the headlamp beams of motor vehicles at a distance of at least 500 feet.

    (4)

    All joggers shall run in single file and not side by side or abreast of each other.

    (5)

    All joggers shall yield to all vehicular traffic.

    (b)

    As used in this section, the terms "jog" or "jogging" mean running of any kind and at any speed, and the term "hours of darkness" means any time from one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise.
